Gordon Phillips is the Bank of America Professor at the University of Maryland and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He also has been a visiting professor at INSEAD, MIT and Duke University. He received his MA and Ph.D. from Harvard University and his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. His areas of research include corporate finance and how financial decisions impact firms' strategic decisions, and contracting in financial markets. He has published in many top-tier journals, like The Journal of Financial Economics, The Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Finance, American Economic Review, etc.
