Speaker’s Bio

Mr. Humphries came aboard Flextronics from Chatham Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of metal enclosures, six months before the company was acquired by Flextronics in August 2000.

Mr. Humphries last served Chatham Technologies Inc. as Senior Vice President for Global Operations.In that capacity, he managed manufacturing, engineering, quality and supply chain functions across 30 facilities on 4 continents, serving telecommunication conglomerates such as Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia, Nortel and Motorola.

Preceding Chatham Technologies, Mr. Humphries was the Managing Director for Holts Lloyd Division (Europe), the Consumer Products Group of Honeywell Corporation. He joined Honeywell through its merger with (erstwhile) Allied Signal where he served as Vice President of Operations for the former’s Autolite Division.He came to Allied Signal succeeding a stint with Isspro Corporation as Vice President and General Manager.

From Chatham Technologies, Mr. Humphries subsequently presided over Flextronics’ global enclosure operations as Vice President of Flextronics Enclosures. In that role, he pioneered the global implementation of highly acclaimed operational management techniques such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and Hoshin planning. He was also instrumental in Flextronics’ expansion in the computing market segment and was one of the architects behind Flextronics’ acquisition of Lightning Metal Specialties and merger with Palo Alto Products Inc. in 2000.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Humphries spent 15 years with Borg Warner Corporation in the UK and Sterling Heights, Michigan (USA) where he honed his skills in human resources and operations management.

Hailing from Wales, UK, Mr. Humphries holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Applied Social Studies and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from universities in the UK.
